This penny caught my attention as it appeared a beautiful dark purple.
I edited this post and included close ups to prove that what is being called finger prints are ridges in the metal based on either a flaw in the planchet which would make it a mint error or ridges developed over a period of the metal reacting to its' environment. Not finger prints. Look again. Now look good, can finger prints cause metal to rise into ridges ? Give me your honest opinion since in am not interested in being right but in the truth. There must be a logical explanation to these ridges. If finger prints is the truth then I have no problem accepting it, but take another look.

I don't think that it is finger prints. I just examine it closely. There is a wavy effect on the coin. It seem to be imposed by the chemical process upon the metal.
I will try to do a better pick.

I'd keep it for coolness' sake. Even if fingerprints show intentional alteration of the surfaces, you'll probably get more than a penny's value showing it off. Maybe even get some kid interested in numismatics.

Thanks guys for your input.
I examine the coin again under high magnetism and I am 100 % sure that there are no finger prints. The pattern under magnetism continues across the whole coin much wider than any finger could be even if it was a thumb. What you are seeing is part of the pattern and concluding based on what you see. It does look like finger prints from what is seen in the picture but I would try to illustrate the non- interrupted length of the pattern which is much longer than any finger. Please re post my picture pointing out where you think that you have seen any finger print.

It has been confirmed that this coin does not have any finger prints on it. It is a beautifully toned coin covered with stripes on the surface due to possible chemical reaction of the copper nickle mix with the atmosphere.
