Hi everyone, thank you for reading my post. I hope you guys are able to assist me with this penny. It has what appears to be "damage" around the rim of the coin. Also, there are four "lines" that run from each corner of memorial building. As always, I appreciate your feedback.

That is rim damage, those lines are die cracks

@GC nailed it.

The sharp corners of the Lincoln Memorial are stress risers and seem to be a pretty common place for the die cracks to start. It is not that dis-similar from effect that this square manhole cover had on the surrounding tar:
