Certainly has the look of an RPM, but that's as far as I can go.

Looks more like a damaged mint mark punch to me. When you look at the RPM on Variety Vista, note most of the RPMs listed show the same mint mark punch damage. That is not part of the RPMs. Note the direction to look on the site near the top of the page with the words:

1950-S RPM-001
Comments: S/S/S West, Lower Serif.
1950-S RPM-002
Comments: S/S East.

Note the areas the RPMs are found. Damaged punch issues/machine doubling on the images are not part of the RPM. Just the area shown with the directions of the comments are the actual RPMs. Other image of markers could also be included which may/may not be present. Your coin is not a RPM.
