I can't recall if this coin was ever discussed but I haven't seen a lot of them and I'm wondering where it might be on the rarity scale if at all?

Its a 1882 obverse 1a I have others but only this one with the doubling on the Nin Canada as well as the N in Regina, some of the other letters also have a light doubling but hard to see with naked eye but under 10 power loupe become noticeable.

What are your thoughts on this coin?

This is the "repunched N in CANADA", I like this variety although it's not well known.

It's more common than any of the 1882H Double or Triple Die Obverses, but scarcer than any of the single serif Ns.

I'd best describe it as "uncommon" though not particularly scarce, if the 1882H Heavy Doubling Obverse is "scarce" and 1882H Triple Hub is "rare" to "very rare".

Difficult in this grade, so congratulations on a very lovely example.

Yes, we discussed this quite a bit a few years ago. I have 4-5 of them. Fairly hard to find, but not scarce. What started as a small D/C through the N in Canada grew to be pretty long.

CV, its graded ICCS MS-63 R/B I've had for a few years now the DP N in Canada was the reason for my purchase of it. The N in Regina is also DP but not as much, also the D in DEI is doubled and maybe tripled I'll try to get a blow up of it.

Bill this one the die crack is strong at the bottom of the N and fades out into the middle of the N.
