I think this one might be natural. This is a high relief 1921 Morgan dollar and as a result only the high center devices in the obverse were in contact with the sulfur rich canvas mint bag resulting in the beautiful rainbow liberty. It is unique and I grade it MS PQ ++++++++++^17. A superb supergem imho. Thoughts? Thanks!

I am thinking that this coin has been selectively laser etched.
If that is the case, then it would have been necessary to remove the toning in the area that is now colored, before proceeding with the laser etching. A rather attractive commercial contrivance.

Multi hues are the result of light interference at the surface. They can be caused by toning, laser etching, or n the case of an oil slick on water, by a very thin layer of oil.

Most coin collectors are aware that mints can produce selectively gold plated silver coins.

That coin is a very rare proof presentation piece that came up missing shortly after the 1921 Morgan's were first issued. If you can come up with it's documented history, or create something convincing, you should be able to get it TPG'd and then the sky's the limit!

Every coin auction house in the United States will stumble over each other trying to list this coin for you.

Can't wait to see it at the ANA Convention this Summer!

Color holograms have been laser etched onto silver collector coins by mints.
Why not selective color toning by a small private company?

Plenty of 'holograms on coins' to be seen on Google Images

Cute!
Better than ordering 10 Pizza's using your neighbors house address.
