I don't see this on variety vista. It appears to be another D to the NW of the original.

As a rule of thumb, an anomaly that is defined by a change of color is suspect of not being die related

More of a planchet imperfection. It is not raised. If it were a die issue like a gouge, it would be raised. With it being level it is more of a planchet stain or imperfection.
