This coin is 21mm and approx. 4 grams.

Also, I think the image in the top photo may be a tiger or a lion.

My initial assumption would be an Iranian "civic copper", as this coin series has an extensive range of depictions of animals and other symbols, not usually found on "Islamic" coins.

@Sap: This definitely looks like it could be an Iranian civic copper coin. After looking through the standard catalogs back to the 1600's this coin looks a little more "crude" than those listings. I wonder if it is a civic copper but just predates the 1600's?
