Hello anyone/everyone. I'm new here so pardon any mistakes I'm making. I will be posting a few coins I'd like to get some opinions on. But, I will start with this one. A Georgia State Quarter. Nothing unusual on the obverse that I can see. But the reverse, well let me show you. The intersecting lines are not scratched/ engraved or gouged into it. They are raised above it. Any ideas. I have searched but not seen any like it so I am clueless. Any help is appreciated.

Wow. Really nice find.I'm sure that die had to be switched out soon after striking your coin.

They are too straight for die cracks, scratched unfortunately.

Images aren't really good enough or close enough but I think it is very unlikely they are die cracks and I do suspect these are actually cuts.

If they are cuts/scratches wouldn't they be indentions? I mean where did the material come from to make the raised lines? There are absolutely no indentions.

Very nice find Jadedx1971.

I didn't see it on Cuds-on-coins.com website under Bisecting Rim To Rim Die Cracks. http://cuds-on-coins.com/rim-to-rim...u-s-coins-2/
Worthy of attribution I think.
Straight cracks? And 2 of them?

Come on guys. These are not Die Cracks. These are intentional scratches from Post Strike Damage ( PSD).

When a coin is scratched it leaves a trench in the center with furrows on each side where the metal was moved:
Georgia-State-Quarter
On coins cut the trench is usually square in shape in the valley area. Sides are rough just like the image above.

I remember that one coop
And then in circulation the furrows can get rounded over covering the trench.

Often when they try cutting into a coin where is hits a raised area, it will More the scratch slightly when it goes over that area.

The light and shadows indicate those straight lines are raised, as one would get with die cracks. I have an earlier die start of that one. Nice find!

Look at these images with a tablet. You can see clearly that these are coin scratches with a blade, just like the images I posted earlier. PSD. (with a tablet you can zoom in very close. Then you can see it clearly)
