what do you think? I kind of like it. Not sure if it's been cleaned.

While it does appear cleaned some of it's original skin is still intact giving it decent eye appeal.

What kind of value is due for a possible cleaning?

No simple answer o that question. Cleaning will sometimes knock 50% off a coin's value, but in this case, it's subtle (if indeed cleaned!) and certainly market-acceptable. So I would say, no meaningful discount if any.

I have the coin at AU50. I would think a light cleaning would pull the value down at least 1 or possible 2 full grades. personally I would pay in the XF40-45 range tops

Panzaldi and others,
Thanks for responses. I haven't gotten it in hand yet.
I did pay about 50% of an XF 40 or so (according to the PCGS guide, which might be high or only for slabbed coins).
This is my first Capped Half so I am excited!

I just received this. In hand it's more impressive. Has some luster or at least doesn't look flat like in these pics.
