This 2009 Lincoln Cent appears to have a test mark on obverse Under ear where hairline ends. I haven't seen any 2009 obverse designs like this coin.

Just a split plating issue. How can I tell? Note the pin hole with a shade of gray on the raised area? Just the zinc getting oxygen and starting to break down.

I will send another pic. Something dark in color dripped on the penny. That is what you see. No other 2009 I've seen is like this.

Aren't test marks applied using a steel ball and a steel pin with point on it? This will put a hole at top of test mark.

Zinc rot, not a Test Mark.

Respectfully guys. The coin has a black substance on it from eye level down. Wouldn't the test mark have a dimple on top from the testing process? If so, I believe the black has settled in the dimple. Makes it look like rot. Just asking?

Test mark? For what reason, and by whom? Agree this looks like a coincident zinc bubble. to the CCF!

1975 D Lincoln Cent. Potential test mark. Reverse near top right memorial. Refer to pic. Any thoughts?

I showed you a picture of what they look like. Neither of these are even remotely close.
