Hi I am just a regular guy who came across this coin a hour ago from a grocery store.


I recall seeing videos of old pennies with the L letter on the line being worth something

to CCF. Common in the 1960's. It was part of the design,the mint changed the design in 1969 I think. No added value.

As usual with Lincolns, John1 is correct.
Up to 1968, the "L" was on the rim.
In 1969, it was moved off the rim.

The master hub was spreading out from years of usage. As John1 mentioned the new master hub was replaced in 1969 and it resolved the issue.
