@KC, first welcome to CCF. Second, I think that you might be thinking that you have a DDR there, is that right? If so, we are going to need good close up pics of the letters in the inscription. In the meanwhile, here is a link to the variety vista page:

Not completely sure of your question, but larger pics of both sides of the coin would help.

To CCF! I only see a coin worth face value. What is special about it?

Sorry I guess some information would be helpful. I was hoping it was a doubled die reverse FS 801. If not a bold lettering but I'm not sure if that one would be worth anything. I hope these new pictures will be better. To me it has 95% of the characteristic of the link in the previous comment but I could be completely wrong. And would the arrow on the reverse be a type H or G?

Ok yes that is what I was thinking. Some of the letters on your coin (e.g. NTIED of UNITED) have damage most likely from a coin rolling machine. To see if yours is the DDR, it is best to compare images. When I crop, enlarge, and enhance yours, the image becomes a bit too pixelated to be positive, but I'm pretty sure not. In the side-by-side comparison below you can see the clearly split serif on the S of the varietyvista image (on the right) and also see that yours (on the left) probably doesn't have that same doubling.

Added: one more thing that I forgot to mention--your new pics are much improved over the original ones. Nicely done!
