GERMANICVS Pillar of the Community Germany 1852 Posts	Posted 04/17/2019 07:16 am I enjoy early-date Seated dimes as an extension of my Capped Bust Dime collection, and was very happy to find this example recently. As far as I can determine, it is a large mintmark variety F-101. The large mintmark variety is reported to be almost always weakly struck, so I am ensure how to properly grade this example. It has nice toning and very attrractive luster on both sides. My pictures fail to capture that. Your comments and opinions are very much appreciated! Report this Post to the Staff

The surface has that white chalky microporosity that you get when it has been in acid too long. Also the right obverse field looks somewhat damaged. I don't think it would straight grade.
