Hello,

Newby here. I have enjoyed learning and looking some things up on this forum.

I received several Sacagawea dollar coins several months ago which I have kept. I was looking at them tonight and just started wondering - how does a coin come to look like the one I am posting pictures of? Is it some kind of staining (its on both sides)? None of the others I received have anything that looks like this color.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

To CCF! Just an Environmentally Damaged coin unfortunately. Probably was in a dirty and nasty car cup holder for change. Anything that happens after it left the U.S. Mint (after the strike) is called Post Strike Damage ( PSD).
Errers and Varietys.
