Since it can't be a RPM, is it a doubled die or Machine Doubling. MD could explain the extra bar on the back and inside arc of D.What about the extra metal above the D, die wear? Maybe a combonation of both?
If you look at the top and inside edge of the 6 I think you will find you answer. See the metal lines on the devices? That is die movement. The roughness of the edges pushed the metal in that direction. I would say Machine Doubling. You guessed it correctly. Die wear would remove the die area that is between the devices and the fields. So that is not apparent on your coin.
