Here's something I don't see every day. Not sure what cause this, I was told Grease.

that's a pretty significant strike through. really nice!

It was Struck Through Grease in my opinion. interesting to note that most of the errors I see in the 2000's are strike throughs.

I'm not so sure - I lean toward struck through a piece of fabric or something else. Grease strikes do not show an etched surface like this - they typically just show a soft absence of detail.

Coinfrog - not sure whcih fabric could end up in the space between the two dies but I agree, it's got an unusual texture.

I'll try to get a few angle shots. I just noticed from the photo that the raised rim around that area seems to be pushed out and is not perpendicular but diagonally leaning outwords. Might be just the photo so I'll have to take a closer look.

These coins are multi-ply plated, so yes, it has to be a strike-through error.
