To me it looks like it peeled in that direction and some of it is still attached there. (what makes me think that is that that area appears to curve a bit to the left from the straight line running across the coin) Report this Post to the Staff

The Peel Looks To Be A Thinner Peeling & Continues Over The Rim. I See These Laminations Here & There. BU are worth more, but as a general rule 50 cents to a dollar was the market a few years back. Wheats are worth several times more. But prices will vary in coin condition and demand.
