Ive been searching through penny boxes on and off for a few years. Has anyone else noticed a huge drop off in Wheat and copper pennies found. What was normally 20-25% copper at worst and 20-30 wheat cents has dropped to 10-12% copper and 10-15 wheat cents. Anyone else keeping track and see a noticeable drop off in the past 6 months. These are bank boxes that are sealed. I would like to see others results
Old thread, but this is what I've observed, as well, in 2022. I blame it on all the shield backs that have been released into circulation. The US Mint should really just stop minting pennies ...
