I stopped at a local bank on the way home from work and deposited a box of nickels I went through. I glance in the tellers coin tray and see a Wheat penny. I simply asked if I could see it and then I see another Wheat as she takes the top one off her tray. All in all, I get 45 wheat pennies in her tray and the six rolls of pennies she had. A few more wheats in the rolls, but not many. The oldest was a 1916, mostly 1930's and 1940's. She was happy to give them to me. A very small find, but it put a smile on my face. You never know what you will find if you look in a tellers tray or just ask to see what they have in stock. KEEP LOOKING!

Last Thursday I did the same thing. Went to the bank just before closing time to get back my check card that the ATM ate. Noteiced some Kennedy half dollars in the coin tray asked if could by them. I got $6.00 worth found a 68D,2000D&P,2001D&P,2003D&P in BU condition. Up until then I only had a 2007P. Was a good find for me.

Seeking: More peeks at the coin trays.
