That second 1939 proof, I don't doubt that it actually is. I hunt a lot of wheat bags and pull out a solid number of proof wheats, about 1 per $10 face usually. Sometimes they come out with this nasty green or brown film on them. It's not Verdigris or PVC I don't know what it is. It may be a proof, it looks to have somewhat reflective fields. It just may be heavily ED.

Agreed he should be dealt with harshly Confrog, but my humor was at the absolute absurdity of the listing, not the fact that people get away with listing coins like this all day. Often I search for ms graded coins only to see PCI and other slabs, I report them sometimes five times (to make sure I choose the correct reporting / abuse) yet they are not removed. The fault is really with ebay and their systems.

It's possible Grape, but at a minimum I would list it as an impaired / damaged proof.

Couldn't agree more. Just playing devils advocate.

This is a real 1939 cameo proof. Rare and pricey as such.

That looks more like a brilliant proof, not a cameo proof.

"No sweat ,there are many more like that on the Bay"

What always amazes me is the sheer amount of bogus listings. I was looking for a nice silver eagle for my dansco a few days ago and was amazed to see them selling for below half melt lol. It does say in the description "made of premium iron material" but in the heading it's says silver eagle.

And don't even get me started on doubled dies lol.
