1985 Quarter Ear DD Or MD?

I found this the other day and would like some opinions on the cause. It doesn't look like a scratch to me but there is some damage at the bottom of the lobe. The coin is quite worn but under magnification you can see the mark travel up the earlobe at a consistent distance.

Machine doubling. Nothing is enlarged. The affected area is reduced. MD.

On the 50 States quarters and the ATB Quarters, those series have 98% of the time for a DDOs, is on the ear areas. But look what to be looking for:
1985-Quarter-Ear-DD-Or-MD?
Note how they are separate from the ear design. Also on these quarters the DDRs is on these quarters are in the central areas of the designs. Probably many of these are over looked. Thus I'm pointing these out.

Got it. Now I have to go back and look at my reviewed quarters again. I think I remember something like the one on the bottom left but played it off because it was kind of subtle, no crisp lines.
