Hey fellow coin lovers! Can anyone help me out with some info as far as whether the wood grain look on this old piece helps or hinders it's value. Sell it or keep it?!

Thank you much. I'm really considering keeping it. I've been on the fence about selling it, but it's a struggle!

That has great eye appeal! I don't think it will hurt the value and might help the value to a collector of this type of toning.
Now as far as selling it.... you will likely never get another one exactly like it, the toning is unique. While you may come across another 1909S with wood toning it won't be the same.
Before you sell it just ask yourself if you can do without it in your collection and never have it to look at again. If the answer is yes, go ahead and sell it, if it's no then you should keep it.
Decisions like that should be thought through. I think we all have sold off part of out collections ay some point and regretted it later, it just isn't the same with the replacement.
Great coin!
