I have been asked to start a dialogue on PNC production and your thoughts on the new privatively mass produced PNCs since this is more than an Australian phenomenon I have place the discussion in the forum which might get a bit more feed back As Aussies we produce some of the most collected PNCs - I wanted to involve others so join us by clicking on this link https://goccf.com/t/34638rggoodie aka Richard "catch em doing something right"

G'day, as I see it, it's just a clever marketing ploy to induce people to pay a larger price than would otherwise be the case. I'm not into NCLT myself, and most PNC seem to me to be one step further from reality than NCLT. That said, I don't criticize others for pursuing their hobbies while I follow my own path. Peter in Oz

Well said Peter, to each his own. I prefer them to 'first day covers', providing the coin matches the theme. regards.

Exactly muckeye and whats available at the moment is people putting modern coins into sometimes retro fdcs which themes do not match, some do but they are home made profiteering money making ventures and its sad that buyers pay too much for basically junk

As I stated I prefer the early ones or the "official" ones should we be listing (as a warning to the new collectors)those that are guilty of mass producing the after market PNCs with non matching coins "just for profit"

i have slowly been unloading them on ebay over the last 15 months , as I have seen the writing on the wall , because aust post refuses to deal with these fake pnc makers and aust post just keeps trying to kill the goose that lays the golden egg by producing a new pnc every month instead of just one or two a year , I have been selling pnc's for years especially many multipes of the scare / expensive ones and the prices realised have been a bit lower the last year or so , I think the pnc boom was from 2005 to 2007 and it has been down hill since then in the prices fetched on ebay

I still enjoy the beauty and history associated with many of them Guess I'll try to hold on as I bought them to collect rather than an investment. But it was nice to see what they were going for Did you see the latest YARRALUMLA cover on ebayLynn got a little greedy and no bids ebay item 200311937294 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...200311937294Starting bid: AU $1,250.00 (approximately US $804.88) Buy It Now price: AU $1,500.00

I don't think that one actually belongs to Lynn, I think she is trying to sell it on consignment and that is the price the owner wants. Very unrealistic in my opinion.

Check out this beauty on ebay its one of the rarer early issues,I copied this from ACBO forum thank you Random who supplied this information These are the original first Australian pnc's, 28yrs before AP got into the game. They were made by 99 company, started and owned by the person who invented PNC's They did pnc's for nearly all the decimal change over coins around the world In a lot of cases they were able to do the covers with the first decimal coins and stamps from each country. The 50c one is issue #11 with the rest of the set (for each coin)goes to 16(1c) in otherwords they are the 11-16 issue of covers produced in the world as no one else was making PNC's at that time. A very early issue Other Australian ones were made by 99 over a few years with different date coins. The item is http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...200362892917
