It shows a good looking naval ship and I think this is Australian half penny, but am not sure. Kindly requesting confirmation and also how do I differentiate between Australian and Great Britain coins? Thanks!

Nope, it's British. The Aussie one had a roo.

The way to determine British coins is pretty ironic: it has no country identifiers. Same with all British stamps, but that was because they were the first to issue stamps, so even by the World Post Organization (or something called that) was founded, they allowed the Brits to keep just an effigy of their monarch, with no verbal identifier.

So if you don't see any country's name but a king/queen's head, it's most like British.

Just kidding, it's called the Universal Postal Union.

All Aussie coins will have 'Australia' on them. Our pre-decimal coins stopped in 1964 as well.

As an aside: the ship is the Golden Hind, a famous British warship from the 1500's.
