Dear cabomhn, With all due respect to you, I do not believe this coin will certify. I would not buy this penny and I would not sell this penny. The obverse has a lot of problems and the color is to put it mildly, just not my cup of tea. Be patient and wait for something really nice. Best wishes, Matt

Be careful evaluating any coin offered by GSC based on their pictures. They are reputable and will honor their return policy, but coins in hand rarely match the wonderfulness portrayed in their glamor shots. These guys create more visual impact in their pictures of coins, than exist in the actual coin in hand.

I decided to give up this coin. I think it would look great in my Dansco but I don't really need an expensive coin to put in there. I just want a nice looking coin. I don't need an immaculate one. Thanks for all of the input. I'm sure there will be something else in the very near future.

IMHO, a gently circulated coin adds a little character that is not present on a pristine specimen, especially on the classic coins where building a matching set of BU coins can get pricey. But that is just one man's opinion. For those that have accomplished building a high end set of classic coins...

Yeah, sadly, we don't all have the kinds of finances to "afford" to put "pricey sets" together !! Sometimes that just the best one can do....

I just looked again and the price was only $77 and with 13 bidders. Normally prices sky rocket the last day so it would be interesting to see how much it goes for. I always shy away from ebay coins. Just to many things that can go wrong. Many have had good luck but I tried ebay once a long time ago and almost got taken. Luckily they honored the return policy. Many have them and don't care.

I feel sorry for whoever would pay $77 for that.
