I went to the bank for a box of cents to search, and through the holes, all I see is brand new 2008 coins. I haven't opened the box to make sure they are all 2008, but really, what are the chances. Does anyone know of any die varieties, errors, etc. for the 2008 LMC?  I haven't heard of any yet, but am hoping someone has. |

So far there is only 1 on Coppercoins site. Doubled column on right of Lincoln. Who knows, you may have the next one.

I guess I will go through them, I was going to trade them for some customer rolls without opening them. Depending on what I find, we shall see if that would have been a stupid move. Thanks for your replies, I will check Coppercoin's site and see the double column.

Not much yet ,, but the coins are of terrible quality at least the ones I have seen from the denver mint !
I still have not added one to my collection because none have come up to snuff .
better than 75 rolls searched and nothing over a 65 its terrible !

I see the boxes of 2008's on ebay going for $59.00 or something, I would feel so guilty selling $25.00 worth of zinc cents, for that much money, to someone who doesn't realize they can just go find a bank and pay face. I know that the bidder knows what it's worth to them and what they are willing to pay, but I would still feel just terrible about it. I've only gotten through one roll so far and have found nothing but new 2008 cents with what looks like water spots, and bag marks. I am not impressed! But maybe I'll find something good though, only 49 rolls to go, IF I can ever get the time.  Edited by 03krafty

went through a box of '08's today, nothing interesting... I didnt know you could sell the boxes on ebay.. thats where the error is... |

I would sell! I didnt realize People were still getting that much money for them! Not everyone can got to a bank and get a brand new box of LMCs Maybe in a big city but not in a lot of smaller towns. I went to a couple of banks in a couple different towns and the both told me They never saw new pennies come through. I feel that is why you have people paying a premium for them even though they may never be worth anything! I think people see them going for over face so figure since last year of mintage before new design change will be worth something one day
