It doesn't appear to be too much post mint damaged Beyond normal circulated wear and tear. Any thoughts?

The only person that really knows, is the person who damaged it. It did not leave the mint like that.

That couldn have been done by the mint. Somebody was probably bored and damaged it.

Just a heavily damaged coin with Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Not an error and spendable.

Ah a battery penny, these were used in a penny battery science experiment which requires you to expose much of the zinc on a Lincoln in order to work.
