I have been seeing more or these ledges on the lettering, is that from wear? Are there a type of ledges that are worth watching for?

I'm sure the reverse of this coin is probably nothing but I thought it humorous that the eagle appears to be a male.

The top of the letters "LIBERTY" look like that, because of circulation wear and flattening. The "male" eagle has a Die Chip.

By looking at the obverse and reverse lettering (lettering closest to the rim) and the ledges you're referring to it appears that what you're seeing is mechanical damage. Gum ball machine, etc. PSD.

A lot of the devices look like they are affected by vending mcahines, counting machines and casinos. No premium for this coin. It is just showing age and a small struck though grease on the EPU on the right.
