I notice that some of the words that numismatists use
commonly are not recognized by the board's spell check
system. The one that comes to mind at the moment is
"uncirculated". That one never goes... There are others
I have run across in the past as well. I just can't
recall them right now.

Just something to think about.

Unfortunately my hands are tied. The spellchecker uses Google's dictionary. I have a "back door key" to Google's servers (with permission) to access the dictionary. Of course it's "read-only" and cannot be edited.

The term used to describe a 'family' of coins,
"commemoratives" does not pass either. The spell
check system wants it without the 's' on the end
for some reason. However this term is tried and
true in our hobby.

I use Firefox with a built in spell checker. I have added about 100 numismatic words and such over a years time.

Oh, well I am not complaining really. It's one of
those things that I thought might be do-able (It's
gonna love that one!).

Post spell check comment:

It took "do-able" and "gonna"!
I don't know about the first word, but "gonna" is
terrible vocabulary! I use it often just to be humorous.

Correct, that adds your additions to a file on your own PC and consults that list in addition to Google's master list. Unfortunately I can't add that functionality to the forum spellchecker.
