The first U of UNUM has an odd look to it and is thicker on the one side with a dip on the bottom, looks like it could be doubled. What do you guys think?
In this case E&V I respectfully disagree, just hasn't been out there long enough to be flattened from circulation. Maybe it's not doubled but you can clearly see the offset. What caused that?
Just a normal cent..Thickness of "U" is just the design...Doubling would be shown in the bays (tops or sides) and in FG..Drip in its bottom could be from a hit or some rot (plating issue). just IMO
Roro57: Remember cents leave the mint in large containers that hold 500,000 coins. Then it is loaded onto a truck and bounced around. Imagine the beating the cents on the bottom must take before being rolled.
