Hi everyone, my name is Tane and I am from Auckland New Zealand.
I collect mostly coins of New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific, South Africa, France and Canada amongst other countries seriously and for fun change coins of nearly any nation.
I am also on Numista and are known as MoneyTane there having found this forum through them.
I am 43 and have Dyslexia and High Functioning Syndrome, but otherwise are very intellingent. However my spelling and grammar is very poor and I apologise if that is how it appears in the posts.
I collected very seriously from 14 to 24, but had my collection stolen out of my car in 2001, and only sporadically collected change since then until last year when I got bitten by the coin bug again and with regular work have started buying coins big time.
My main collecting interest is Stamps - mostly British Commonwealth with an emphasis on the Pacific, Mediterranean, Africa and the Caribbean. Many of my stamp countries mirror my coin ones (Ireland, South Africa, Malta etc).
I have always been obsessed with money - but in the coin and acquisitive sense and earliest memories are of coins when I was like 2 years old and was hospitalised after swallowing an old 10 cent piece (Think the size of an old english shilling - smaller than a quarter).
Hope I have a lot of fun here and greetings to you all
Tena Koutou Katoa! (It's in Maori my 2nd language)
