WOW. No wonder they are beat up by the time they get to the buyer. Why bother wearing gloves? How pathetic.

Agreed I did not know they were handled like this before even leaving the mint. With this being the case the chance of getting your hands on a ms70 coin is impossible.

It looked like a production run of cents and not a reverse proof, which I would expect a little more care. At least they wore gloves when handling them. Wouldn't it be interesting if any were found without the 'W' mint mark?

Looked legit to me nothing wrong there at all, no production issues that all of them aren't experiencing right along with the rest.

What do you want for free anyways?

From what I can tell on the population report for these is about 1/4th of the coins are PR70 for the regular proof, and so far PR69 is taking the lead for the Reverse proof, but that's likely to change once they hit the home shopping networks submissions.

it's a modern proof coin, they don't have much value to begin with normally. It's always been a losing bet, with the exception of the purposely low mintage proofs and even those won't make you rich.

I'm waiting for the uncirculated finish one with the Mint set. I think that one there will be the hit or miss coin of the 3 for Lincoln Cent sets a few decades from now.

Set collectors can do without proofs, they really can't do without a circulation strike. but that's all speculation....

Yes that was the planchets, that doesn't concern me. It's around the 1:18 point where the struck coins are piled and being slid around over each other in the packaging process that is disturbing.
