It's a nice coin except for all the spots on the reverse.

That's due to the reworked dies/hubs for 1940 (and part of 1939, as well). Even in low MS and FS, it's only worth a few bucks. It's surprising, actually, but true. Still, that's a keeper for me.

Yes the 40-D Jefferson is common in all grades and many have Full Steps . The reverse spots on yours kills the eye appeal .
