Hi there. As my husband was going through some old stuff he came across this 1980s Indian Head penny D Mint Mark. With his magnifying glass in hand he had discovered that it is a potential Double Die. Now these pictures here dont necessarily do this coin justice. This coin has been put away for many years but after wiping it down with mild, soapy warm water we saw the double on the obverse side in almost every letter as well as around his head.

Now we want to verify this but we have not found a reputable dealer here in our home town that would even like to sit diwn and review any of our thought to be valuable coins. We are new and nieve so every coin looks like it has something.

Can anyone please help? If this is to be true. What is our next step? What is the value? Thank you and God Bless

Not an 1980 but a 1880 and could not be a D mint mark. Photos are really just to blurry to tell if any doubling is there.

And too much environmental damage.
DD is often hard enough to ID even with XF or better coins.

This coin is, I'm afraid, essentially worthless.

To CCF , as already said above ,there were no mint marks on 1880 IHC's . Also Your coin is in pretty bad shape .
