If it is silver, it would have a very nice premium.

EDIT: 1942 silver nickel ( no mint mark) sold for $9k (HA?).

In 1942 the mint produced 2 versions one was .250 Nickel and.750 copper, the other was 35% silver,56% copper and 9% manganese . which is known as ''The War Nickel ". Also identified by the large P mint mark above the Monticello Building .
