I was just on The Royal Mint site and attempted to buy 2 of the silver Olympic coins that just went on sale. At the checkout, I got a message saying that my country (USA) placed a restriction on ordering these coins and emptied my shopping cart. Why?

Hi....

I don't know their reasons as well but on the http://www.royalmint.com/PackedSets/LUKHSP.aspx page.

Currently only available to UK customers

But nothing on the http://www.royalmint.com/olympicgam...UKHSP_m.aspx page but what is odd on this page it says:

Low issue limit of just 20,000** Then at the bottom it says: ** Taken from a total coin mintage of 30,000

So I wander over to the gold version.....Strict issue limit of 3,000* and * Taken from a total coin mintage of 3,250.

So what is going to happen to 10,000 (1/3) of the silver ones and 250 of the gold ones that people can't order.

My wife likes the silver one as well (we are in the UK) but I can't decide if it is really worth what would come to over $60 US dollars since it is £32.95.

I can understand you being disappointed in finding coins you really like and then not being able to purchase because of restrictions.

Ken
