How many ounces of silver is this.
What is it silver value.
Thankyou.
I was under the impression that it is .5 ounces of silver so I bidded 6 dollars for it.

G'day, I've got a silver rupee of the Victorian era: can't lay hands on it right now, but as I recall, it was about the size of a shilling.
A shilling is 5.65 grams.
One ounce troy equals 31.1 grams.
I don't know whether Indian silver of 1944 was sterling (92.5%), or 50% (like British was in 1944), or something else.
Hope this helps with your arithmetic ...
