Does anyone else see what caused me to do a double take on this one? LOL! It's a well worn and well circulated 1949 Jefferson.

Guessing that's circulation damage, but I'll leave it to the experts.

Oh, it's not what I did the extra looking for. This is not the error I would like to find.

If your not seeing it, I thought at first glance that I saw a D over S. Inside the D, I thought I saw a faint top of an S. Just wishful thinking!

I knew it was a 5c RPM question, just by the topic.

Do you have a pic w/more contrast? (I think that's the word)

edit, now that my eyes are open, the upper part of the S,

should be on the left side.

Keep hunting, they're out there!

More of a coin wear issue. When the devices get worn down from circulation, they look wider. On a RPM, you need to see a spread. Just because a mint mark is larger in size doesn't mean its a RPM. Case in point:

While this mintmark is larger than normal, there is no spread. So it is not a RPM. But the coin is a DDR, because of the minor doubling on CENT.

(Not listed on John Wexler's site now, but was at one time)
