Dunno...is that a box from the mint? Have you opened the box and weighed that one?

Well, you are going to have to open the box and the roll for anyone to have a clue as to what it is.

Had the heart palpitating for a few tho. We'll just haveto see what the rest of the box brings. This is my first large quantity of dimes. I need the 78D to0 complete my 65 and up Whitman and I'd like to find a better 77D. I'll be happy if I find tham in this box. would've been happier with a blank Planchet but oh well.

It should be mentioned that there is no such thing as a "box from the Mint"
It has been about ten years since they bagged their coins.
They use counting and wrapping companies like Brinks and Strings to do the job.
The coins are delivered in huge bins or bags on pallets. Then they are counted and wrapped.
Thanks, Bill

Slug or a blank? What's the difference? Is it the difference between a disc of steel, and a un-stuck dime? I found one of those myself awhile back...

Quote: Is it the difference between a disc of steel, and a un-stuck dime? That pretty much sums it up. One is a genuine pre-coin; a "product" of the US Mint! The other is junk, crafted by a low-life or purchased from a hardware store.
