1855 Upright 55 Large Cent For Grading, Pretty Copper

paralyse Bedrock of the Community United States 12057 Posts	Posted 06/01/2019 9:18 pm With my other 1855's being pretty rough pulling the bid trigger on this lovely mid-state 1855 N-8 was a no-brainer. Newcomb's N-8 is only R2 but it can easily be picked with the naked eye because it is the only Upright 5's 1855 variety with the point of the lowest hair curl pointing between the 8 and the first 5. N-8 also has heavy die file lines at the back of the head (shown below) which can be fainter or almost absent depending on the die state. Two different pictures of each side & a close-up of the die file lines. What's your grade opinion?
