Cheapest BIN GSA soft pack Peace dollars on ebay are in the 80 to 100 $ range. You can buy all the circulated Peace dollars NOT in GSA soft packs you want for less than 20$.

People are sometimes willing to pay for the provinence.

You can also walk around any major coin show and try to buy these GSA soft paks from knowledgeable dealers at generic raw coin prices. You are not going to walk away with any coins. That I can assure you!

I appreciate everyone taking the time to belittle this niche in the hobby. Well done.

I did not at any moment "belittle" this niche in the hobby nor your coin. All I told you was your coin is worth more money as it resides in the GSA soft pak vs what it would be worth out of the soft pak and in a TPG holder. The numbers don't lie.

It is just the reality of the situation.

westernsky - I also appreciate the opinions on grade. Thank you.

Edit: I do not own this coin but was considering making an offer. It would be an upgrade for my NGC registry set if it straight grades.

I apologize. I realize after review that the questions are genuine.

NGC will certify these GSA issue dollars and encapsulate them with the original packaging. They're adept at detecting tampering, so origin is not a concern. There are very few (or no known) coins inside the original packaging for most dates and mint locations. The NGC competitive set registry in this category is fun (for me at least) because it's hard or maybe impossible to complete the set.

I've also found that NGC will hold these to a higher standard when grading for whatever reasons. I speculate it's the difficulty in assessing through the packaging.
