I just saw this one today, the seller has a few other coins that look very similar in wear.

Thank you

Welcome to the board, Mauro. Yes, it's a well documented fake. At least one of the entries on the fake reports states that this issue is "of Bulgarian manufacture; Studio of Slavey Petrov."

Yes, the Eid Mar is one of the most celebrated coins in the hobby. I've never seen one even in the museums I've visited in Europe.

The ironic thing is that since the item expired ebay is suggesting another coin. "We found something similar" it states, and shows a listing of another fake.

Thanks everyone, I'm new to the hobby and learning fast. That coin sold for $50 so some poor soul out there thinks he scored pretty good. :)

Mauro, it's never a stupid question. At one point, we have ALL had "stupid" questions - it's how we learn. It's a wonderful and rewarding hobby and everyone on this forum wants to advance it. The learning curve gets better has we progress in the hobby. Learn all you can about fakes We have ALL had a learning curve and still always learning.

Here are two good resources in learning more about fakes:

I have attached pictues of the fake coin and auction listing, because the link will eventually become invalid and this topic will be nearly worthless.
