I know there is a 1853-O no arrows with rays half that's rare. But is there a 1853 no arrows with rays quarter? I saw one the other day and didn't know if it was real. Don't feel comfortable linking it just in case.

There is definitely an 1853 No Arrows and No Rays quarter - a small number of them were produced before the weight change, which prompted the new design to assist people in knowing which weight quarter they had. Scarce in all grades.

@coinfrog I don't think that is correct. There is a "no arrows" variety, but it also had no rays.
OPs question seems to be about the combination of the 2.

That's what I tried to say - it has "no arrows and no rays". That is, neither arrows nor rays.

Same design as all Seated quarters 1838-1852 that preceded it.

Grape, did I misunderstand your question?

Good point. I only meant to point out that the question is apparently about a no arrows/yes rays coin. That was not addressed in your answer and I do not think it exists.

Rereading the question, I'm not exactly sure what Grape was asking!

Fake, arrows removed. The date logo is too high in the field for a genuine example (the logo was moved up toward the bust in the revised version to make room for the wide arrowhead points). If you have access to it, the 3 in the No Arrows version is clearly re-punched, shows even on worn examples.

And there is NO "No arrows with rays" half dollar either. The extremely rare 1853 O half is no arrows, no rays.
