Collecting Franklin Half Varieties

Not that it's amazingly accurate but PCGSCoinfacts App has a price guide for variaties. ebay sold history is still the best indicator.

My understanding is that PCGS and NGC are picky on which varieties they will slab with attribute number and which ones they won't and it can differ from company to company which ones they do or don't do. Goes for any coin series also.

ANACS seems to be the most "liberal" with slabbing the most varieties by attribution numbers. Where the big two have many attribution numbers they don't want to put on the slab's for whatever their reasoning. It will vary by the grading company what they will or won't put on slab labels. For instance PCGS excludes some FS numbers. They only recognize 317 Morgan dollar VAMS and 52 Peace dollar VAMs out of like 3000. I'm sure NGC does the same type of thing. I think they base it off of significance, and if determined not significant enough, they don't do it.

In my opinion ANACS is best for varieties and error authentication, although their slabbed coins don't have the best of resale values.
