Have you ever noticed, the ones that ask it this is a small date 1970-S are 99% of the time wrong. The ones who post this is a 1970-S small date are usually 99% correct most of the time? {red]Why is that?[/red] When they figure out the two things I look for on the small dates, then they will know the nest time. What I look for on these:
1. The bottom of the '7'. If it is below the '0', then I know it is a large date.

2. The inside curve of the '9'. The large dates have the blunt end point down to the foot of the '7'. The small dates have the pointed curve pointing back at the center of the '7'.

When viewing close up images of the large and small dates a way to make sure on an auction site is a business card. You can check them on the images on your monitor.

But that is what I look for first. The bottom of the '7' and the inside loop of the '9'.

It's much more subtle than the 1982 - not surprised at the number of inquiries.
