Hello all, I was looking at this 1962 LMC proof, just wondering your thoughts. Thought the lines where trails, but not sure now after a closer look. Thank you for the help,
Edward M.

They appear to be deep die scratches on the die. So much so that not just the fields are affected, but also part of the design. This is more of a die even, rather than trails. Most often trails are straight lines. Where as die scratches can be in any direction and curved. I would keep it safe for now. It might be something that the images are not showing at this point. When you get some better images you might re-post them on this same thread and I'll take another look. But that is what I'm seeing so far.

Hello all. Coop, I have tried and tried to get better pics, nothing. Started some reading and found this pic. It is a 1964 SMS Lincoln Cent with the same circular lines. In hand, these lines do not look like die polishing or scratch. Thank you for the help,
Edward M.
