According to the Mint website this coin is set to release on August 15th. That's in two months. So far the only thing I've seen is some proposed designs that were released last September. Did I miss something? Is the final design known yet? Are there anymore details? Is the 8/15 release date shown on the mint's product schedule a solid date? Mintage limits? Inquiring minds......

I'm interested in getting the silver medal version but I have nothing to add towards your question because I haven't seen any further details.

I still don't know what they're going to look like, or if they're coming out on Aug. 15th for sure, but at the rate things are going the issue price might be over $2k.

With spot Au price currently in the $1400-$1450 range, the issue price would be $1840.

The Au spot price would have to be in the $1600-$1650 price range for the issue price to exceed $2K. It would be $2,040 if spot Au were to get that high by the time of issue.

Yup. I have been buying the silver medal versions. I absolutely love the 2017 four medal set.
