Can Anyone Identify These 3 Roman Coins? (Id: Julian II And Claudius II)

Windsor87 New Member United Kingdom 3 Posts	Posted 09/01/2008 11:58 am Hello all, I bought these coins a few years ago and can't remember which reigns they come from. Can anyone help? echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 09/01/2008 2:33 pm The the forum, If you could take a picture of each coin both obverse and reverse, we would be able to give you a better answer. #3 looks like Constantine II as Caesar, #1 looks like Claudius II, but would need to see the rest of the coin. echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 09/01/2008 9:58 pm I think you are correct that it is Julian II, I can just make out DN IV, and the reverse matches one that was used. Emperor standing left holding globe and spear. I'm still going with Claudius II and the second one. Try soaking them in olive oil for a month or so it should be able to remove some of the dirt and you would see more detail. Report this Post to the Staff
