I know this coin is a 1/4 Anna from the Indian Princely State of Jodhpur, KM 145. What I can't figure out is the date. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't see anything that looks like a date. I'd assume it's off the flan.

I'm trying to translate the script on the coin to find out current ruler.
A large number of Provincial Indian coins don'w have dates, and mainly have emperor/Zamandar of the region.

This coin is from the reign of Umaid Singh.
His dates of rule were from 1918~1947. The coin would roughly be from 1930's~1947.
He was the Maharaja of Jodhpur.

Hope it helps

[EDIT]George VI was in rule of India during that time. Umaid Singh and George VI are the rulers indicated on the coin. The Last year that this coin was minted is 1947 (Stopped ruling India).

I think I've got it....this one is dated VS2001. The two dots near the center of the bottom picture are the zeros, the 2 above and left, 1 to the right.

Sap - That's what I suspected, I just wanted some one to agree with me.

Kid - Thanks for the translation! I could have used your expertise about 4 months ago with different Indian issue. Fortunately I have an old college friend who is Iraqi.

DCH - I believe what you are referring to is text. I'm sure the Kid could substantiate this.

Snowman, you are correct, that is not the date. Other examples of this coin clearly show my '2' as separate lines, looking nothing like a 2.

DCH, The 2 dots are part of the letter "EE" in arabic, sounds like a long 'E' in English.
