This is a Barber head silver 10 cent peice.
If you take your image and google it this will come up. Hope it helps

Cannot identify positively - compare it to a modern dime, quarter and half. (For the size)
It is commonly called a Barber coin named for the director of the mint.
Made between 1892 and 1915/1916.
These coins circulated heavily during the second world war and are often found in this condition.

@mazzie, first welcome to CCF. Second, this seems to be a silver Barber coin, but as @mtv mentions, these were made in dime, quarter, and half dollar denominations. Can you please post a pic of the reverse side of the coin too? Thx.

Looks like it might say "IN GOD WE TRUST", if so it's a quarter or a half.

It has STARS on the obv so it is either a quarter or half dollar. From the way the ribbons look I think it is a quarter.
